When it comes to PCs usage, Microsoft dominates the operating system market with its Windows platform. The majority of PC’s run on windows and it’s not actually free. Here are five free Windows alternatives to consider.

1. Ubuntu

Ubuntu’s interface is similar to MacOS, so if you have used an Apple computer, then you will feel at home with Ubuntu.It is available at free of cost

2. Raspbian PIXEL

Raspbian has always been light on resources, but most users would avoid it because of its interface.In terms of specs, the Raspbian PIXEL can even run on a machine with a 700MHz CPU and 256MB RAM. It’s a great option if you’ve got an old laptop lying around that you can’t use for even basic tasks anymore.

3. Linux Mint

It comes bundled with a lot of useful software such as Firefox browser, Thunderbird email client, Gimp photo editing suite, and LibreOffice. In terms of design and usability – it can be customized to your liking and it’s easy to use.

4. Zorin OS

Zorin OS is similar to Windows. If you’re a Windows user who wants to save some money then Zorin OS will feel comfortable.

5. CloudReady

Google’s cloud-based Chrome OS is another good alternative to the Windows platform if you spend all your time on the Web.
